  8. INSTALLATION
  9.  
  10. To install this update: (this assumes drive C:)
  11.  
  12. 1. Copy the update file into your JetFighter III directory
  13.    by typing: COPY JF3UPDT1.EXE C:\JF3 [Enter]
  14. 2. Switch into the JetFighter III directory: CD \JF3 [Enter]
  15. 3. Decompress the update by typing: JF3UPDT1 [Enter]
  16. 4. Apply the patch by typing: UPDATE [Enter]
  17.  
  18. We recommend re-configuring your sound hardware to be sure
  19. the latest sound drivers are activated.  We also suggest that
  20. you select and configure your joystick again.

  29. - Support for the Interwave sound hardware.
  30. - Sound board autodetection.
  31. - Support for more joystick types.
  32. - Better pre-programmed joystick button functions.
  33. - Ability to customize and save joystick button functions.
  34. - Ability to select COM: port for Force/FX joystick.
  35. - Read-me file contains more troubleshooting information.
  36. - Should not cause problems with "naughty" Ensoniq
  37.   SoundScape drivers (ssinit.exe).

  39. SIMULATOR
  40. - Support for sound effects in a Windows95 DOS box.
  41. - Improved (and different) joystick / throttle and rudder
  42.   calibration.
  43. - Special afterburner throttle calibration.
  44. - Vastly smaller program size for faster loading.
  45. - Music now plays in the simulator.  Of course, you can
  46.   turn it off if you want to!
